Changes on the Board of Management of technotrans AG

The Supervisory Board of technotrans AG has resolved to reshuffle the Board of Management team. Henry Brickenkamp, member of the Board of Management of technotrans AG since 2006 and Chief Executive Officer since 2008, had previously notified the Supervisory Board that he does not wish to extend his contract, which expires mid-way through the year, enabling him to follow up a new professional challenge.

“We would like to thank Mr Brickenkamp for his successful work in recent years that has played a major part in technotrans’ development,” declared Heinz Harling, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of technotrans AG. The Supervisory Board of technotrans AG has resolved to appoint Mr Hendirk Niestert (42) as an additional member of the Board of Management of the company with effect from February 1, 2018. The Mechatronics Engineering graduate started his career with an American subsidiary of GRIMME Landmaschinenfabrik GmbH. He joined technotrans AG in 2007, initially as Service Manager, subsequently becoming head of a business unit. He took charge of Worldwide Service for the group in 2011.

Mr Niestert will be responsible primarily for the Sales and Service areas and for Quality Management. In light of the exit of Dr Christof Soest (CTO) at the turn of 2017/2018, the Supervisory Board in addition today resolved to appoint Dr Andreas J Schmid (50) to the Board of Management as Dr Soest’s successor with effect from February 1, 2018. He possesses many years of professional experience in the capital goods industry, the mechanical and plant engineering sector and the control technology field.

Changes on the Board of Management of technotrans AG

Dr Schmid was latterly Managing Director (CTO/COO) of Munich-based Schaltbau GmbH. The Schaltbau GmbH Group, an international subgroup of Schaltbau Holding AG, is a leading provider of electromechanical components and systems for the transportation and automotive areas, the capital goods industry as well as industrial applications. With annual revenue of € 150 million and 900 employees, this segment delivers a consistently positive profit contribution with double-digit EBIT margins.

Following on from an apprenticeship in Telecommunications Engineering, his Physics studies led to a doctorate in Electrical Engineering, after which he embarked on his career in the development department of a global-scale electrical engineering group. In recent years his work has focused on the area of corporate development and strategy, accessing new technologies and markets, plus the establishment and expansion of development and production locations.

In future, Dr Schmid will be responsible for the Development, Controls, Business Units, Production, Purchasing and Logistics areas. Mr Niestert and Dr Schmid join the current Board of Management members Chief Executive Officer Henry Brickenkamp, whose term of office will end in June 2018 at his own request, and Chief Financial Officer Dirk Engel.
